The England international missed Saturday's defeat to Sunderland after illness and injury last week. Giggs revealed on Friday that Rooney was one of a number of players suffering with a bug and also confirmed that the forward had a tight hamstring.
In an exclusive interview with MUTV on Monday, United's interim manager revealed: "Wayne is probably struggling for the game. He's not quite recovered. We'll continue to monitor him."
When asked about the fitness of Jonny Evans and Rafael, Giggs said that Evans probably won't play again this season, but added: "Rafa has trained in the last few days and looks good. He could be involved in the remaining two games."
